Once an agency has received an email from the MyPPCBusiness team confirming the hosted agency site has been created, the agency is ready to take the final steps to set up the agency website with BoostMyPPC.

There are three basic steps to complete:

  1. Update DNS Settings
  2. Customize Agency Site
  3. Update BoostMyPPC Settings

Step 1: Update DNS Settings

(using Godaddy.com)

  1. Sign into domain provider account (Godaddy, Hostagator, 1and1, or similar)
  2. Navigate to the Manage DNS panel for the appropriate domain
  3. Go to DNS Zone File tab
  4. Go to CName (Alias) record
  5. Select www option in Host column
  6. Click Edit icon
  1. Go to Points To field and enter: ppc-profits.net
  2. Click "Finish"
  1. Next, set domain forwarding so when visitors search: agencysite.com, it redirects to www.agencysite.com
  2. Go to Settings tab
  3. Go to the Forwarding field
  4. Go to first option: Domain, and click Manage
  1. Select Domain tab
  2. Click Add Forwarding
  1. Select Forward To: http://
  2. enter www.yoursite.com
  3. Select Redirect Type: 301 (Permanent)
  4. Select Forwarding Settings: Forward only
  5. Select "Update my nameservers and DNS settings to support this change. (Recommended)"
  6. Click Add
  7. Check this on the Settings tab, forwarding field, Domain: http://www.yoursite.com (forward only)

Note: The instructions above explain how to change DNS settings in a Godaddy domain account. However, most domain providers use the same or similar terminology and settings panels.

Step 2: Customize Agency Site

Customizing the agency website is easy, but important. The agency will make sure the correct contact and business information faces viewers of the agency site. To do this, the agency should customize the agency website to reflect the proper phone number, business logo, and website address information. Follow each of the video tutorials for instructions to set each element of the agency website.

NOTE: Wordpress has changed the customize menu, but only ever-so-slightly, so this should be a piece of cake. Here's what you do:

  1. - Log into your dashboard as an admin and use the left side panel as you were
  2. - Hover over Appearance
  3. - Click Customize
  4. - Then, the menu is slightly different, so you are going to click on Header and Navigation
  5. - Click on Header
  6. - Replace phone and/or email address
  7. - Click Save

The logo is uploaded from the Divi Theme menu. Here's what you do:

  1. - Log into your dashboard as an admin and use the left side panel as you were
  2. - Hover over Divi
  3. - Click Theme Options
  4. - Use the first top section; Logo, to upload your image
  5. - Remember to click SAVE at the bottom of the page

Step 3: Update BoostMyPPC Settings

Adding this field will ensure proper integration between the agency website pages and BoostMyPPC.

  1. Log into the agency BoostMyPPC account
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab
  3. Navigate to the Prospect Video and Booking section
  4. Navigate to the Agency Domain field
  5. Verify the agency domain is displayed in this field
  6. If the account holder instead sees the incorrect domain, or "not available", please email the help desk: [email protected] and request to have the agency domain added to this field

Note: If the agency uses a self-hosted-custom site (with custom theme and design) this integration is not necessary.

Suggested Tip: Verify DNS settings are correct

  1. Visit http://mxtoolbox.com (a free, third party, tool used for DNS-checks)
  2. Enter the agency domain (subdomain + TLD), e.g. www.realityppc.co.uk
  3. Check Lookup to verify if DNS setting is correct
  4. If mxtoolbox.com does not display the correct DNS mapping then the agency should contact the domain provider to complete the settings.

Example of Correct DNS Setting: http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=mx%3awww.realityppc.co.uk&run=toolpage

  • TLD = Top Level Domain (e.g. Google.com , Yahoo.com); TLD does not include "www" or any subdomain
  • Subdomain = www, or similar prefix; the subdomain used for agency website
